Opportunity:


WFC is looking for
permanent part-time AMCC Program Assistant to work
28 hours per week.The WCCRC AMCC Program Assistant reports to the Manager of Programs regarding communication with clients, community partners, funders and training policies and procedures of Programs at CCRC, and is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the day-to-day activities and operations for Westcoast's Administration and Management for Child Care Program, including courses, workshops and knowledge base content.

The AMCC Program Assistant requires a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.


Responsibilities:


  • Planning and coordinating courses, learning modules and workshops, in consultation with the Manager of Programs, that are aligned with Westcoast's core values and the BC Early Learning Framework.
  • Oversee the registration process on the BC Early Years Professional Development Hub, and coordinate with site support for technical issues arising.
  • Hosting and facilitating AMCC course events.
  • Developing and coordinating the training calendar for AMCC offerings in collaboration with the Professional Development Team; including scheduling locations, dates/times, communicating and supporting Instructors and facilitators.
  • Identifying and developing relationships with Instructors and facilitators to provide relevant and diverse professional development opportunities.
  • Responding to AMCC professional development requests and requirements.
  • In collaboration with the Manager of Programs, maintain annual work plan, budget, and training effectiveness.
  • Keep the Manager of Programs informed of progress towards completion of the annual work plan, compliance with the program budget, and feedback regarding training effectiveness every quarter, or as the need arises.
  • Ensure AMCC professional development courses, workshops and presentations and relevant accompanying resources on topics related to child care programming and administration, are developed and delivered on the HUB.
  • Ensure integration of AMCC's annual planning with the agency's overall strategic plan.
  • Meet regularly with the Manager of Programs to discuss the direction of the program, as well as staffing and resources needs for service delivery.
  • Provide contracts, training agreements and other documentation for external Instructors and facilitators.
  • Build effective links with relevant organizations in child care, child development, family support, and the broader social service sector.
  • Represent the Program and Westcoast in the child care sector, broader communities and the province.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Skills You Bring:


  • Current knowledge of child care, child development, and family support issues, trends, and practice.
  • Proven effectiveness and successful experience in organizational, communication, supervisory, and leadership roles with a staff team.
  • Knowledge, skills, and experience in working in a team environment in services related to Westcoast AMCC content and activities.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness required as part of a staff team.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the public and maintain positive community and interpersonal relations.
  • Effective English written and oral communication/presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problemsolving, organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Competency in languages in addition to English is an asset.
  • Knowledge, ability, curiosity to learn, use and troubleshoot various kinds of hardware and related software, while delivering and hosting online presentations.

Requirements:


  • Diploma or certificate in the early childhood education field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of recent program coordination or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
