JOB:_ _Under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Research Scientists, the Research Coordinator assists in the project development and coordination of the STOP HIV/AIDS Program Evaluation (SHAPE) study and other projects within the Epidemiology & Population Health program._

ORGANIZATION:_ _The BC-CfE currently employs a team of Statisticians, Programmers, Data Managers, Clinical Research Assistants, Data Analysts, and Data Entry Clerks who work collaboratively on cohortbased epidemiological and clinical studies, and a program of qualitative research. The BC-CfE is a worldrenowned HIV/AIDS Research Centre including Research Laboratory, Clinical Trials, Drug Treatment Program, Epidemiology, and Professional Education Programs._

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:_
- _Coordinates the planning, implementation, and maintenance of a province-wide project evaluating HIV care and services._
- _Contributes to the design and creation of communications and public relations tools, including coordinating meetings among the community, staff, research teams, and support staff._
- _Supports a team of peer research associates (PRA) and engages in community-based capacity building and development._
- _Assists with various administrative tasks associated with the day-to-day operations of research studies and projects._
- _Leads and supports various quantitative and qualitative data analyses with the support of the technical and scientific teams._
- _Engages and leads knowledge translation activities._
- _Supports, develops and evaluates strategies that encourage community participation in activities._
- _Performs other duties as required._

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:_
- _Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Global Health, or related fields._
- _Minimum of two years of experience in a health research setting including coordinating research projects and grant based programs, and supervising data collection activities._
- _Ability to work independently and take initiative._
- _Excellent problem-solver._
- _Superb communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively on a team._
- _An ability to synthesize scientific literature and interpret statistical data._
- _Ability to prepare publications, documents, reports and communication materials for mass distribution._
- _Demonstrated experience in conference/event planning and grant preparation._
- _Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of research design._
- _Superior verbal and written communication skills._
- _Proven understanding of social determinants of health and health equity frameworks._
- _Proven strong research skills with the ability to critically analyze results._
- _Ability to work with diverse groups in local communities._
