Grand Erie's 2800 employees provide quality education to approximately 26,000 full-time equivalent students who attend our 72 schools. The Board spans a geographic area encompassing the City of Brantford and the Counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk.

The Board is currently seeking individuals to join the Facility Services team as a key member of the Capital & Renewal Division.


Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Division Manager, the Supervisor will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Planning, budget preparation, coordination and supervision of construction and renewal projects including: managing consultants, contractors, and coordinating with authorities having jurisdiction; draft, review and approval of contract & tender documents; drive and monitor contractor and consultant performance with the ability to ensure project completion on schedule and budget; communicate effectively with various Board levels including staff, school community, and administration.
  • Maintain the Board's School Facilities Inventory System and Real Estate Capital Asset Priority Planning system.
  • Preparation of Ministry of Education Capital Branch reporting and budget accountability requests

Qualifications:


You will have a secondary school graduation diploma, plus an advanced diploma in Architectural Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent education.

In addition, you will have your certification in Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.
T), Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or Technician (C.Tech) or equivalent certification. This education will be accompanied by a minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

You have extensive knowledge of relevant government codes and regulations, expertise in reading construction drawings and specifications, and experience with project management.

Your positive attitude enables you to influence others (staff, contractors and consultants) to achieve goals. You understand the importance of customer focused service.

You have a strong work ethic and the ability to accomplish tasks in a straightforward, skilled, and time sensitive manner.

You have clearly demonstrated abilities to both lead and be a key part of a team. Your excellent organizational, prioritization, and conflict resolution skills are combined with superior interpersonal and communication skills. Working on multiple projects simultaneously and successfully completing each on time and budget are routine for you. You have strong analytical and problem resolution skills. You are proficient with MS Excel and Word software. You will possess and maintain a minimum of a class G driver's license during the term of employment

$78,249 to $88,919
