Position Details

  • The Faculty of Education is seeking a dynamic scholar and innovative educational leader whose body of academic work demonstrates in depth knowledge and understanding of the relationship between theoretical knowledge and professional practice to provide high quality preparation of professionals in Educational Leadership. The individual should be an experienced educator and collaborative colleague for one fulltime tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Educational Leadership.

Academic duties include:
- (i) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, including but not limited to the supervision of undergraduate field experience and/or graduate research, and assessment of student work;
- (ii) research and other original scholarly activities, as well as professional activities that contribute to a larger discourse; and
- (iii) other contributions to the University and scholarly communities.


Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills- Preference will be given to applicants with research expertise and/or ability to teach in one or more of the following areas:

  • Educational leadership theory and action
  • Educational change leadership
  • Educational leadership and school culture
  • Educational policy in the preK to graduation sector
  • Ability to teach in one or more of these additional areas at the undergraduate or graduate level is considered a strong asset:
  • Responsive and relational pedagogy and leadership
  • Qualitative research methodologies (e.g. participatory action research, collaborative research methods)
  • First Nations, Inuit and Métis foundational knowledge
  • Culturally grounded and/or responsive pedagogy
  • Philosophy of education
  • Social change/transformation
  • Learning, identity, wellbeing and the social good
  • International and transnational education, development, and research
