Being a Chief Quality Assurance Analyst for the National Bank of Canada means:

  • Working closely with our Product Team to bring Customer user stories to life
  • Partnering with other members of your squad to rapidly deliver solutions which translate business needs into technical outcomes
  • The implementation of automated testing models to ensure that tests can be performed rapidly at scale to ensure that the highest quality code goes to production
  • Constantly challenging the Development Team and being ruthless about uncovering defects and deficiencies in the developed code
  • Finding ways to move left into the earliest stages of the development lifecycle to influence the quality of delivery

Your role:


As a Chief Quality Assurance Analyst, you will participate in refining and testing IT solutions, make recommendations and provide management with the information needed to achieve quality in everything we do and find ways to break things that otherwise appear to be working.

You will act as the guardian of production and treat our customer experience as a sacred thing which must work flawlessly every day.


More specifically, you will:


  • Design test strategies that demonstrate models for using automation models to build testing frameworks
  • Establish and execute quality programs designed to ensure all developed code is exhaustively tested across all parameters including both functional and nonfunctional requirements
  • Work closely with Business, Product and Development Teams to deeply understand user stories and solution designs and develop test plans to aggressively exercise all permutations of the software
  • Build API and UI based automated scripts and continuously execute tests to break code early and often
  • Support the DevOps CI/CD pipeline to ensure code is being shipped at the completion of every sprint

Your profile:


  • Bachelor's degree or other degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in quality assurance at progressively higher levels of skill and expertise
  • Mastery of automated testing skills using API, UI and end to end models
  • Experience with the Agile/Scrum approach and knowledge of JIRA
  • Ability to solve problems independently and creatively
  • Commitment to deliver quality customer service and products
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and the ability to automate REST API testing
  • Rigour and leadership

Knowledge considered an asset:


  • Knowledge of AWS cloud environments
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL
  • Knowledge Camunda Platform
  • Knowledge and use of test management using JIRA
  • Prior experience in the Banking or Wealth Management industry
