Position Summary


In December of 2023, UHN is implementing SAP's best-in class supply chain, procurement, and financial systems as part of finance and supply chain transformation project.

As UHN transitions from project to sustainment mode, the support model includes education and training operational mode.


The role of the Education Specialist plays a significant part in supporting and contributing to this transformation through the design and delivery of instructor-led, eLearning, and virtually delivered courses and support, to all levels of staff using the SAP system.


Duties

Instructional Design

  • Develop excellent working relationships and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with Finance Sustainment Leader and Subject Matter Experts to support the design and maintenance of instructorled or eLearning course content
  • Utilize skills to design technical training courses for virtual instructorled modality; includes design, development, prototyping, testing and maintenance of virtual instructorled classes
  • Establish excellent working relationship with people from different areas of expertise with varying degrees of technical experience and skills
  • Successfully employ project management knowledge and expertise
  • Demonstrate foundational knowledge of job functions and workflows of client groups
  • Actively participate in and contribute to problemsolving team discussions by providing creative recommendations in how to improve training programs

eLearning Content Design

  • Produce online learning content storyboards on time in accordance with established technical guidelines standards and instructional design
  • Partner with Digital Education eLearning Specialist to design, develop, and configure quality SCORM compliant and HTML elearning
  • Utilize adult education principles skills to design and review content storyboards, Q/A prototypes, and maintain content

Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs

  • Regularly seek feedback from Finance Sustainment Leader, Subject Matter Experts and users
  • Identify and make appropriate changes to assigned training programs and materials as required based on participant, SME, peer feedback, evaluation results and observations

Provide quality customer service in delivery of educational services through operational effectiveness

  • Demonstrate effective project management, administrative and organizational skills and manages time appropriately for all assigned work, including target dates for creating new instructional designs, handouts and performing other tasks
  • Training reference and support materials are successfully and accurately written and convey concepts clearly, incorporating effectual use of graphics and white space and demonstrating strong writing skills
  • Independently follows through on initiatives; mínimal supervision required to complete work
  • Able to problemsolve and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Able to anticipate, problemsolve, and respond appropriately to training and content inquiries in a timely manner
  • Construct well thoughtout decisions on complex or ambiguous issues
  • Solution oriented, considers impact and mid
- to long-term effects of decisions/solutions

  • Work on complex problems and provide innovative and creative solutions that will achieve quality and work process improvements
  • Perform crossfunctional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contraventions of the Act, in a timely manner.
