Description
The Sakitawak Early Years Family Resource Centre (SEYFRC) is a program developed through collaboration with community and government stakeholders.

The objective of the program is to create a community-based environment where families with young children can easily access a wide variety of services and supports with a focus on supporting healthy child development and positive parenting.


The Program Designer will provide the capacity to strategically plan and implement integrated early childhood development strategies that address needs identified by early childhood indicators for the area served.

This position will support the continued growth and development of the centre by guiding discussions and actions to respond to emerging issues, nurturing the center's sustained relevance in the community and consistency with early childhood development research.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in the Human Services field, Education or Early Childhood Development and/or extensive work experience in field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the theory and practice of highquality early childhood development programs.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Culture and Language is an asset.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Duties & Responsibilities


  • Develop and support programming delivered by SEYFRC staff and partners that meets the four pillars that make up the Saskatchewan Early Years FRC model - early learning, parenting education, family wellness and support and information and referrals.
  • Develop the Centre's strategic short
- and long-term plans which will articulate goals such as identifying priorities based on early childhood dates, quality improvement, sequential early childhood development, inclusion and diversity, inclusion of family and child voice and linkages with partners.


  • Utilize this strategic approach to translate theory into practice and oversee and guide implementation of strategic programming at the Early Years FRC for consistency.
  • Utilize local early years data to support early child development programming.
  • Use pedagogy and expert knowledge to mentor existing staff and assess and plan for staff development needs to ensure high quality, reflective practice, research-based services, and the delivery of intentional programming.
  • Devise approaches to support parent and caregiver understandings of child development and support positive parent-child relationships.
  • Work with other staff to support this work and ensure that programming connects to child developmental outcomes, intentional practice and key takeaways for parents and caregivers.
  • Nurture the organizational reputation within the community as the trusted place for early years resources and information in the community.
  • Create or build on partnerships with early years partners to enhance and expand programming at the centre.

$40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
