The Opportunity

What You'll Do


The Project Manager will report directly to the Department Technical Manager, as well as to the Project Sponsor of all assigned projects.

Typical responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

developing the Project Management Plan, developing the Project Schedule, developing the project budget, performing qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, resolving and escalating project issues, leading and directing the project teams, engaging and managing all project stakeholders.

This will require coordination with various and diverse client stakeholder groups. This position is primarily office-based and requires periodic travel.


What We Expect from You

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management and/or a Minimum of 5 years of Comparable Field Experience. 810 years of related experience preferred.
  • Direct project management experience with Municipal Water/Wastewater capital projects
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and construction specifications/manuals
  • Ability to read and understand construction and procurement contracts
  • Ability to read and understand project schedules and Gantt charts
  • Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office, MS Project/Primavera and Procore
  • Strong math and analytic skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict negotiation/resolution and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with owners' representatives, contractors, vendors and others on and off the job site
  • Ability to occasionally travel (up to 20%), and occasionally work nights, weekends, and more than 40 hours per week
  • Assist project staff in their duties
  • Track and report project progress and status
  • Work closely with owner, project management team and contractor management team
  • Strive for individual excellence by seeking challenges and self development, demonstrating high levels of expertise and showing commitment, selfconfidence and integrity
  • Ensure adherence to client's Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs
  • Report, track, and resolve nonconformance issues in coordination with QA/QC
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in Canada
