Under the direction of the Manager, Charge Nurse, Registered Nurse, or Therapists (PT, OT) the Patient Mobility Team Member will provide support to the nursing units to assist the teams with patient ambulation, patient positioning, patient regular rounding and basic activities of daily living.

This position is a support position to our front line interprofessional teams to ensure they are focused on core care duties as our inpatient capacity increases related to the impact of COVID 19.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Assists with activities of daily living and personal care under the direction of RN/RPN/PCA
Assists with ambulation/ positioning and patient rounding
Provide assistance to patients and clients during meal time, including meal tray set up
Participating and contributing in all aspects of infection control measures and/or programs.
Dealing courteously with patients, patients family, visitors and team members in a positive manner, and assisting with communication technologies to connect patient with family and friends.
Supports a clean and tidy environment by assisting in light tidying tasks as required
Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Secondary School Graduation Diploma (Grade 12)
Enrolled in a health care profession program at a postsecondary institution (i.e. BScN, Practical Nursing, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Respiratory Therapy or related healthcare program)
Positive interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions accurately
Proven good attendance record.
Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload
Proven ability to attend work regularly.
Satisfactory criminal reference check and vulnerable sector search is required.
