**EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYFire Department - Administrative Assistant
**summer student, contract
**the Fire Department administration office. An applicant should be currently enrolled in a post
- secondary education program and returning to continue their education in September 2024.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive visitors and answer telephone calls, respond to general inquiries, and open
- Establish, coordinate and maintain records and file systems in both computer and
- hard copy format
- Assist with file maintenance, including Laserfiche scanning for record retention
- Assist in daytoday operations of the administration office
- Prepare a variety of letters, notes, reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Word,
- Excel and Powerpoint.
- Completes various tasks as assigned by the Fire Chief.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Superior customer service skills and ability to deal with the public and staff in a
- Proficient in the use of computers and current related software
- Selfstarter with demonstrated strong timemanagement and organizational skills
- Must possess valid Driver's Licence
based on 35 hours/week.
