Whitehorse General Hospital (58 beds), Watson Lake Community Hospital (6 beds) and Dawson City Community Hospital (6 beds).


Reporting to the Manager, Visiting Specialist Clinic, the incumbent coordinates the Specialists' yearly visits, schedules patient/client appointments, liaises with patients/clients, physicians, hospital departments and other personnel.

The incumbent is responsible for coordinating clinic activities to ensure the clinic operates efficiently, organizing the Specialists' surgical schedule, and collecting, compiling, and preparing Specialist Clinic statistics.


Knowledge, skills and abilities required:


  • Knowledge of medical office procedures, technology and terminology;
  • Knowledge of Meditech Expanse scheduling and registration processes;
  • Experience scheduling patient/client appointments;
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and adapt to workload variances;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office products;
  • Highly motivated and innovative;
  • Ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision;
  • Analytical skills;
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position;
  • Cross cultural awareness.
