Generalist Technician

Michelin, the Worldwide leader in Tires, is hiring

  • Your role:


Working closely with the validation center team and the product development teams, the selected person's main responsibilities will be to test and analyze various products used for off-road vehicles.

His/her role will be to provide a clear result to the product development teams with the help of the validation team.


We need you for:

  • Test products on different types of offroad vehicles (agricultural, construction, and recreational).
  • Follow up with a daily inspection of the test progress.
  • Complete detailed test reports including measurement charts and photos.
  • Ensure daily followups of your tests with the validation team and/or the development team.
  • Strictly follow established testing procedures to ensure team coordination and site safety.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance and nonmechanical maintenance of your vehicles.
  • Perform characterization of your tested products and complete product analysis upon completion of the field test.
  • Perform internal opening of products to analyze nonvisible components (e.g., cutting rubber with a blade knife).
  • Use different types of procedures such as Xray, ultrasound and thermal variation analysis as needed.
  • Finalize the report on your tested products and make a presentation to the development teams.
  • Perform certain tests on a simulator when required.
  • Participate in the implementation of best practices in product validation.
What do you need to possess for being successful?

  • Available Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (for some tests travel may be on weekends).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have a valid class 5 driver's licence and be able to travel (valid passport not required for employment).
  • Knows the Office suite and is willing to learn (training offered onsite).
  • Ability to communicate in English and French (written and spoken).
  • Is autonomous, meticulous and attentive.
  • Ability to take initiative and unconditional respect for safety standards.
  • Is a good team player and is able to share his/her knowledge.
  • Has a critical mind, good analytical skills and is open to different ways of doing things.
  • Is calm by nature and comfortable working outside (weather permitting).
  • Not afraid to work with or near large agricultural and construction equipment (you will be driving convoys with extreme weights).
