    Position Summary

    The Technical Delivery Supervisor, for a section/ design entity within a Segment, will be responsible for tracking, monitoring and assessing the contractors engineering progress including: deliverables production (progress & performance), quantity growth, BIM development, etc.

    Responsibilities

  • Actively works with the Contractors design entities/ Engineer of Record
  • Coordinates activities with the deployed interface lead/ coordinator
  • Reviews Contractors project engineering progress against approved schedules, evaluates changes and recommends corrective action (for Segment Delivery Manager concurrence and Segment Director approval) when required.
  • Monitors the flow of information required from third parties to ensure the timely progress of the engineering work.
  • Works with the Segment Technical Delivery Supervisor to establish engineering progress & performance reporting, in collaboration with Contractor's design entities, and then tracks for a certain scope package
  • Develops and checks S-curves for design production utilizing a combination of MIDP info, Schedule 10 submittal info, the contractor schedule and defined intermediate design control points agreed with the contractor.
  • Works with the design review team to align internal OLTA (OL Technical Advisor) review resources with the design submittal schedule (Sch 10 requirements)
  • Works with the BIM team to validate BIM LOD corresponds to contractor conveyed progress
  • Works with the BIM team to understand quantity status (particularly with regards to any growth) and notifies the delivery manager of any change
  • Works with the Segment Technical Delivery Supervisor to develop the specific Delivery Segment section within the OL (Ontario Line) Engineering Management Plan
  • Responsible for implementing any OL Engineering Management plans, procedures and processes cascaded by the Program Technical Delivery Supervisor
  • Assesses contractors package submission quality performance factor and works with the Delivery Manager if quality is below expectations
  • Gather and assess information to ensure that interfacing contractors works and schedules are correlated and reconciled with specific Segment contractors' submission;
  • In collaboration with the rest of project team, provide support to contract management, risk management and interface issues;
  • Work with the deployed Interface Lead/ Coordinator to review project schedules for consideration of interface requirements so that deliverables are provided in a timely manner across the program;
  • Works closely with the deployed delivery assurance supervisor to align engineering deliverables with the assurance gate process;
  • Take necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorized disclosure, modification or destruction. Never knowingly put Metrolinx's information or information systems at risk.

  • Qualifications and Skills
    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or Minimum of 12 years' experience working in the rail industry and/or large-scale infrastructure projects; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Successful Engineering/ Interface Management track record on a major multidisciplinary rail project
  • Demonstrated technical writing, data management, verbal communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
  • A firm understanding of rail engineering procedures, principles, and concepts.
  • Experience working with teams and stakeholders in the development and delivery of large infrastructure projects. Ability to communicate across technical disciplines (engineering, construction, operations, maintenance).
  • Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in planning and executing high value, multi-faceted lump-sum turnkey civil infrastructure projects.
  • Computer skills (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
