Scope of Position:

The Housekeeper shall provide housekeeping and other services to residents in a safe and efficient manner, according to the policies and procedures of the Home.

Employment Terms:

Must have the ability to commute to work (1333 Rideau Ferry Road, Perth, ON)
Must have a Canadian work permit

Shifts Available:

7:00 am to 3:00 pm (7 shifts bi-weekly)

Key Responsibilities:

Operates and cleans equipment, furniture and cleans and maintains all areas related to residents as per work routines
Cleans resident rooms on a weekly basis following the schedule set out by the home
Provides services and interacts with residents and resident family members in a professional manner
Participates as a member of the maintenance team and provides support to the other members of the team
Projects the appropriate image and focus on customer service in their dealings with residents, families and guests
Observes and adheres to all policies and procedures, work standards and safety regulations
Provides personal laundry services for residents in accordance with established work routines
Assists and attends to the needs of the residents as required
Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, coworkers, and residents
Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations
Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, MSDS, or home policy
Other related duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

Previous experience in housekeeping and/or laundry services
Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent
Must be able to read and communicate effectively
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
Effectiveinterpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints
Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
Must be able to operate related equipment
Must be able to respond to emergency situations
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time as well as lift and carrying heavy trays and items
