- Develop, monitor, and implement innovative and goal-oriented vocational rehabilitation strategies for Plan Members receiving disability benefits.
- Assist with the transition process of ill and injured members of the Canadian Armed Forces by facilitating their return to work post-release.
- Collaborate with Plan Members and stakeholders to devise creative return-to-work solutions.
- Manage budgets effectively.
- Deliver clear and effective communication to Plan Members, the Policy Holder, and various medical professionals, often conveying complex or difficult messages.
- Ensure the availability of the most effective and efficient supports for our Plan Members.
- Ensure the most effective and efficient supports are available to our Plan Members.
- A related university degree; preference given to candidates with a background in Health Sciences, with a focus on Psychology, Counseling, or Nursing.
- Accreditation may be advantageous.
- Some vocational rehabilitation experience or several years of active rehabilitation experience.
- Solid understanding of Rehabilitation Industry Standards, Disability Insurance, medical terminology, and Disability and Rehabilitation management best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Comfortable presenting to large groups.
- Bilingual in French and English (oral and written).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience managing budgets in a professional setting.
- Possession of a valid drivers license and access to a car for travel to various locations.
- Prior military experience would be a significant asset.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize, particularly when managing large and complex caseloads.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills, with a focus on finding win/win solutions.
- Capacity to make difficult decisions independently, with consideration for their potential impact on Plan Members and the business and deliver those decisions effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven analytical and organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to generate creative solutions to rehabilitation challenges.
- Genuine interest in assisting individuals in returning to gainful employment.
- Must be located in Nova Scotia for the role.
