Department Overview
TD Wealth Management Operations is the operation engine for TD Wealth Management.
Wealth Management Operations supports all TD Waterhouse distribution channels, TD
Mutual Funds, TD Asset Management, TD Private Trust and TD Securities.
The Wealth Tax and Government reporting department is responsible for allocating,
preparing and issuing tax slips according to the tax eligibility of the instrument and the
government requirements. The Tax department is also responsible for ensuring that all
CRA and IRS guidelines are adhered to. When not in tax season, the department is
responsible for the project development and management for the upcoming tax season.


Job Details

  • The Team Manager is responsible for the oversight of 7 team members (with addedagency staff for tax season) who specialize in Canadian tax reporting, including daily reconciliation of applicable tax accounts.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual health check reports to assist in the accuracy of annual reporting; extensive tax knowledge is essential to validate calculation samplings.
  • Perform annual user acceptance testing (UAT) prior to production
  • Liaison with the business' to coordinate business specific tax requirements forcustomers
  • Liaison with respective vendors throughout the year to test and produce taxdocuments
  • Accountable to ensure all regulatory filings are completed and mailed prior to theprescribed mail dates.
  • Identify process improvements or regulatory changes and prepare a project request document if required and work with the project manager to ensure projectobjectives, timelines and budget are being met.
  • Ensure any inquiry is managed within the prescribed timelines and follow the escalation protocol if required.
  • Coaching and development, coordination of comprehensive cross training activities, oversight of the Service Level Agreements (SLA's), compliance and ensuring high levels of service delivery are provided to partners and clients, including ciCEI results by ensuring all Ticketing, PISO inquiries and telephone calls are being responded to within prescribed timelines.
  • Continuous review of policies and procedures to ensure risks are identified and mitigated with appropriate, documented controls that ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Promote and support a work environment that encourages productivity, innovation, teamwork, and a high level of professionalism in a time sensitive and deadline based environment.
  • Where requested, provide input on complex Corporate Action payments, Incomeand Mutual Fund transactions to ensure accurate tax reporting.
  • Represent TD Wealth at Canadian industry tax meetings

Job Requirements

  • Experience in Canadian investor taxation is an asset
  • People management experience is an asset
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines
- and priorities within a highly demanding environment

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • The ability to delegate and follow up for timely responses/resolutions
  • Escalate issues upon discovery detailing the issue along with recommendations
  • An established track record of providing exceptional customer service
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements during tax season
