Summary:


The Heavy Equipment Operator is involved in the operation of various pieces of equipment to move materials, equipment, snow, and dirt.

This work exists primarily outdoors and may be physically demanding.


Work Location:
Syncrude Aurora - Fort McMurray, AB


Anticipated Start Date:
September 1, 2023


Anticipated End Date**:
November 30, 2023


Shift: 14&7 (10 hour days)


Hourly Rate:
$40.24-$58.43 (Inclusive of employer contributions for vacation/statutory, health and welfare, RSP, pension, and education and training)


Local Premium:
$5.00/hour

Responsibilities:


  • Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards
  • Operate various pieces of equipment, including but not limited to: side booms, dozers, graders, loaders, excavators, bobcats, and zoom booms
  • Move materials/equipment, snow, and dirt
  • Load/unload materials
  • Assist in demolition work
  • Excavate trenches
  • Complete prejob equipment inspections
  • Attend required safety and tailgate/toolbox meetings
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Must be in possession of a valid operator's card for the equipment utilized if applicable
  • Must have previous experience operating equipment on an industrial work site
  • Experience working in tight spaces is considered an asset
  • Previous rigging experience is preferred
  • CSO, BSO, or OSSA Regional
  • ESC/OSSA Arial Work Platform preferred
  • ESC/OSSA Fall Protection preferred
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Organized and selfmotivated
