Medical Records Transcriptionist

UNIT:
Health Records

STATUS:
Casual**
START DATE:February 13, 2023**

SALARY RANGE:
$ $27.22 per hour
***: As part of the Health Records Department, the Transcriptionist is responsible for the timely and accurate
transcription and distribution of dictated medical reports. This position is an on-site, in hospital position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary diploma in Medical Office Administration
Medical Terminology Course
6 months to 1 year experience in a health care environment/medical transcription

EFFORT:

Minimal degree of Physical Effort
Average degree of mental effort and analysis

POSITION-

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Prepare correspondence in response to written request for copies of personal health information
Ability to think proactively, work independently with mínimal supervision and guidance in a team

oriented environment
Perform Minutes of Surgical Tissues Audit, Death Summary Audits, and occasional Medical Staff

Meeting Minutes
Transcribe confidential reports with a high degree of accuracy.
Receive, analyze and correct Fluency X-ray system error reports
Edit speech recognition reports
Trouble shooting and testing in CERT environment for transcription programs
Lead, support or participate in key activities or action plans as identified on applicable Operational Plans.
Active member of applicable team/unit/department meetings and huddles.
Perform quality assurance on records and scanned documentation

HOURS OF WORK:
Regular business hours, Monday to Friday.
