Temporary Full-time Maintenance Assistant

Meridian Housing Foundation is on a mission to provide and manage independent, supportive, and affordable housing for seniors.

Position Purpose is to assist Maintenance personnel as needed with the maintenance of seniors housing facilities including the lodge and self-contained buildings.

General Duties & Responsibilities Tasks will also include painting and touch ups, indoors and outdoors, assisting with suite renovations, loading/unloading, moving and installing appliances, assisting with inventory, assisting with receiving goods, assisting with cleaning, moving and delivering furniture for special events, stocking water coolers and collecting garbage and recycling. This position will also interact with seniors through providing assistance with resident needs, as well as other duties as assigned.

Keep self and others healthy and safe according to the MHF Health & Safety Program_._
Ensure compliance to health and safety by being compliant to policies, standards, practices, procedures, rules and legislation

Criteria:

Between the ages of
Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee status has been conferred
Active Social Insurance Number
Desire to work with seniors
Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check
Preference to applicants who are enrolled or have completed relevant education

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 3 months
