Dragados Canada, Inc., the Canadian construction arm of the ACS Group (one of the world's largest international construction and engineering companies), is seeking a talented and experienced
Environmental Coordinator to join its dynamic and energetic team.


Dragados Canada was established in 2008 and has grown steadily into an industry-leader in Canada, with offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, successfully performing a variety of large-scale transportation, bridge, dam, tunnel, and other major infrastructure projects.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with various teams/stakeholders to ensure the coordination of the implementation of the Environmental Management Plan
  • Assist with presenting the environmental orientation training for project staff as well as periodic environmental toolbox talks as required
  • Conduct environmental monitoring and followup in accordance with environmental approvals and/or applicable legislation
  • Maintain a log of environmental monitoring events and inspections
  • Ensure that environmental issues are addressed and requirements are met in accordance with the environmental approvals and project agreement
  • Prepare and submit all monitoring and inspection reports
  • Provide advice/recommendations for improving environmental protection and correct any deficiencies/issues of environmental nonconformance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science or other related discipline
  • 25 years of relevant experience working as Environmental Coordinator
  • Experience in the construction industry on large infrastructure projects is highly preferred
  • Experience in conducting environmental inspections and monitoring, and ensuring environmental compliance
  • Knowledge of methods, approaches and best management practices related to environmental inspections
  • Knowledge of provincial environmental laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Systematic and structured thinking abilities
