What You Will Get To Do-Reporting to the Manager of Construction, the Supervisor of Capital Construction is responsible for managing all construction activities on capital construction projects from initial construction through to completion.

Regular duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- providing strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, advice and guidance to all staff within the division;
- managing, overseeing and administering all aspects of the Town's construction processes for capital projects including ensuring procedures, standards and specifications are compatible with construction standards and tender documents;
- actively reviewing, meeting and negotiating with external stakeholders and/or contractors to ensure project completion within stipulated timelines and/or budgets;
- representing the Town, in conjunction with appropriate parties, during investigations and/or court processes, relating to capital projects for insurance claims and/or law suits;
- formulating reports and correspondence in relation to a variety of construction related issues and/or inquiries;
- staying abreast of industry changes and/or innovations in order to review and recommend new products and update contracts to ensure the Town is meeting construction norms, standards and specifications;
- partnering with Human Resource Services to respond to employee and/or labour relation issues, including change initiatives, organizational development and/or recruitment;
- maintaining strong working relationships and open communication while responding to and/or resolving inquiries from various internal and external sources including, but not limited to, staff across the organization, Town Council, senior management, business owners, consultants, contractors and the general public;
- ensuring federal, provincial and municipal legislative requirements are adhered to including the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Book 7, OPSD, CLOACA, etc.; and,
- other related duties as required.
