General Purpose of this Position:


Reporting to the HR Supervisor, the HR Administrator provides confidential HR support in all aspects of human resources such as entry into the HR Information System (HRIS), responding to HR inquiries from employees, preparing and revising offer letters as required and HR reporting.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Health and Safety

  • Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Cementation.
  • Be aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report same to Health and Safety Department.
  • Participate in department safety huddles and incident imaging.

General Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, professional, and courteous and confidential interaction with all Cementation employees and external vendors.
  • Assist with the daytoday administrative functions of the HR Department.
  • Act as resource in the areas of employment standards and other regulations governing employment in various jurisdictions across Canada.
  • Complete employee lifecycle transactions (new hires, promotions, salary adjustments, terminations, transfers, leave of absence, etc.) accurately and efficiently in HRIS ensuring data integrity and proper approval levels are assigned and obtained.
  • Create employee documents such as offer letters, promotion letters, transfer letters and salary adjustments.
  • Maintain personnel files and required compliance paperwork.
  • Develop and run reports as required through utilization of the HRIS.
  • Participate in the review and development of performance management and compensation practices and programs.
  • Participate in workplace investigations, as may be required.
  • Create/update job descriptions and maintain inventory of all job descriptions.
  • Provide input into policy development and updates, work with HR team to update current policies.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR Department and assist with projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to effectively prioritize workload to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Superior keyboarding skills and accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to deal with confidential information.

Education and Experience:


  • University Bachelor's degree or postgraduate certificate in Human Resources Management.
  • HR designation preferred (CHRP minimum).
  • 13 years of direct HR experience.
  • Experience dealing specifically with group benefits and/or disability management is an asset.
  • Experience in the mining industry is an asset.

Travel Requirements:


  • This position has the requirement for occasional travel to our project sites and offices.
