POSITION AVAILABLE:
Construction Project Accountant


REPORTS TO:
Project Manager to the Contractor and the Owner**



LOCATION:
Downtown Hamilton

Located in Hamilton, Ontario, LVTI Inc., the development consulting and construction management company is seeking a Construction Project Accountant.


Responsibilities:


  • Execute fullcycle monthend close process, including posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.
  • Responsible for owner billings.
  • Responsible for construction draw processing including processing all payables, ensuring timely and accurate invoice approval and payment.
  • Maintain strict payment draw schedule ensuring all draws are prepared and reviewed according to the standard process.
  • Update and maintain all project budgets and ensure accurate data interface between construction management systems.
  • Responsible for job costing for all projects and ensuring coding/costing accuracy and in accordance with budgets. Raise early notice of budget variances.
  • Complete project's budgeted cost, unit allocations, and cost recognition.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
  • Other responsibilities as required

Job Qualifications:


  • University graduate with a business degree (Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration) with accounting major
  • 35 year of experience as a Jr. Project Accountant/Project Accountant in the construction industry
  • Working experience with Sage300 Construction Accounting Software, asset
  • Experience with Project Finance component of the Autodesk Construction Cloud platform, asset
  • Selfdirected and takes initiative
  • Able to work in a fastpaced, challenging environment
  • Strong verbal and written command of English
  • Must be deadline oriented
