We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance/Operations Manager to join our dynamic team.

As the Finance/Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial and operational aspects of our organization.

Your role will involve strategic financial planning, budgeting, financial analysis, operational efficiency improvements, and ownership of the operational and project management system (Workamajig).


Additionally, you will collaborate with other leadership team members to enhance communication and information flow, deliver training programs, and support various aspects of the business, including office space and IT needs.

This position requires a strong background in finance and operations, excellent leadership abilities, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the financial health and stability of the organization.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process (including labour budgets), incorporating stakeholder inputs and historical results to create consolidated and teamspecific budgets.
  • Accurately forecast revenue and utilization, integrating with new business efforts for revenue and hiring impacts for headcount.
  • Execute all finance and accounting functions for the agency including, payables, receivables, payroll, government remittances, and staff expenses
  • Prepare accurate financial information and internal reports monthly
  • In conjunction with the agency's account management group, develop comprehensive financial projections
  • Create, implement, and continuously improve systems, standards, and processes for financial management, measurement, and control including monitoring and reporting of costs of business and operations, versus budget
  • Ensure the alignment of all reporting with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and industry standards
  • Take ownership of the operational and project management system (Workamajig), including developing and delivering training for new and existing users
  • Manage the workinprogress cycle of all projects, implementing controls and processes for effective client billing and adherence to project budgets.
  • Collaborate with other leadership team members to assess and document the flow of communication and information throughout the client journey.
  • Acts as HR Administrator by monitoring stat. holidays, vacations, sick leave, bereavement, lieu time, benefits and working with Ceridian on all payroll issues
  • Uphold organizational policies and standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Work with senior leadership to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive work environment.
  • Support CEO with special projects as needed and assist in ideating and implementing key company cultural initiatives.
  • Oversee the agency's physical office space and IT needs, including liaising with key vendors and stakeholders for upgrades and maintenance.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success in facilitation and the progress of organizational change and development, within a growing company
  • Wellrounded and innovative with a solid experience in finance, acquisition, and operations
  • Ability to lead crossfunctional teams driving strategic initiatives and process improvements
  • Adept at financial analysis and necessary strategic thinking
  • Excellent judgement and proactive problemsolving skills including negotiation and conflictresolution skills
  • Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, proactive team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance
  • Ability to operate as an effective tactical, as well as strategic, thinker
  • Highly professional, excellent communicator, approachable, skilled at developing and leading teams, committed to quality, and passionate about the business
  • Strong crossfunctional operational experience
  • CPA with a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business an asset
  • 5+ years Managerial experience working in accounting and financial management

$52,432.86-$118,090.52 per year
