We are looking for a hard-working, professional person with a positive attitude to join our team.


The Optometric Assistant/Optician and Customer Service Representative will work with the team to support the Optometrists and ensure the practice functions at its best for our patients.

As an organized, detail-oriented and adaptable self-starter, you would be responsible for providing an excellent end-to-end overall experience:


Job duties are as follows:

  • Responsible to manage reception desk tasks & administrative duties including appointment booking, managing medical referrals and overseeing appointment scheduling for Doctors.
  • Greet and interact with patients in a courteous and friendly demeanour while building rapport.
  • Perform pretests & liaise with Optometrists to ensure they remain on schedule and have the time needed to provide a thorough examination and answer any questions for their patients.
  • Assist patients with frame selection, styling, fitting, lens selection and measurements.
  • Enter lab and online orders accurately; Monitor orders and job status from optical labs to confirm accuracy & quality.
  • Process payments and manage insurance eClaims.
  • Dispensing and verifying eyewear prescription when received from labs, process and organize for dispensing; Dispense, adjust and repair eyewear.
  • Assist in inventory management including maintenance, restocking & loss prevention
  • Participate in personal and team development training and initiatives including staff meetings, continuing education and conferences.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, leadership team, suppliers and the general public.
  • Maintain punctual attendance, officeappropriate personal appearance, and adhere to relevant health and safety procedures.

Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
From $18.00 per hour


Flexible Language Requirement:

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus pay
  • Overtime pay

COVID-19 considerations:
Clear physical barrier at the front desk. PPE available, masks, sheilds, and gloves. Hand sanitizer and constant disinfecting of services that have come in contact with patients/customers.
