Our multi-disciplinary team comprises environmental professionals specializing in aquatic and terrestrial biology, soil science, vegetation ecology, environmental assessment, environmental auditing, environmental monitoring/inspection, and resource management.

The Role:


  • Working two (2) weeks on and two (2) weeks off, on a construction project located in a remote location in Northern BC. Accommodations will be provided in the form of a camp situation.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable projectlevel plans/commitments, including both owner guidance documents and contractor execution plans.
  • Cosupervise up to 6 Environmental Monitors varying in experience level, and provide mentorship and encourage a culture of collaboration.
  • Interface with construction management teams including reviewing plans, developing fieldfit solutions, and communicating results from the field to decision makers using a variety of media.
  • Collect a wide range of environmental and compliance data including water quality monitoring in streams and waterbodies, conduct equipment inspections, and oversee construction activities as they relate to committed mitigation measures.
  • Competent and experienced with the installation of erosion and sediment control measures, and can review/audit the efficacy of measures installed by others.
  • Respond to environmental incidents including fluid leaks and assisting with spill prevention and response.
  • Prepare daily environmental compliance reports, and frequently attend regular coordination meetings with construction site personnel.
  • Promote the safety culture of both Triton and our Client while on site by complying with safety protocols and lead others to follow.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 years of environmental consulting, management, compliance, or similar experience related to the mining, forestry, or energy sectors.
  • Experience working as an environmental monitor or inspector in a construction environment.
  • B.Sc. or technical diploma in biology, environmental science, or similar.
  • Professionally accreditation or registration with a professional regulatory body in British Columbia is an asset.
  • Experience in environmental best management practices, regulatory requirements, and implementation of mitigation measures on construction projects.
  • Ability to operate in a high performance and demanding environment with competing requests, priorities, and timelines.
  • Interpersonal leadership skills and demonstrable ability to lead a team.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable environmental legislation, regulations, and policies to ensure projectspecific compliance.
  • Capable and experienced with operation and calibration of field water quality meters.
  • Proven ability to work productively and independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting.
  • Detail oriented with solid organizational and time management skills.
  • Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions.
