About the role


We are looking for a Vice-President - Cloud, Infrastructure & Transformation to support and enable our technology teams, employees, and customers across Canada.


In this role you will be responsible for the organizations private and public infrastructure (compute, storage & network) You will lead the strategy development and investment to support our technology and cloud transformation - supporting our goal of being the most widely distributed, secure and reliable platforms in the industry.

You will lead over 250 technologists which support over 18,000 employees, 25,000 brokers and over 3 million Canadians who engage with our platforms on a day-to-day basis.


As one of our critical technology leaders, you will:

  • Lead a team of over 250 people ensuring the reliability and availability of key infrastructure, overseeing our Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) and private data centres
  • Own the strategy and development of our cloud strategy enabling DevOps and selfservice capabilities for thousands of software engineers and data scientists
  • Be a champion for world class engineering practices in building highperformance, secure, and reliable systems
  • Manage and optimize large budgets and investments continually assessing optimization and rationalization opportunities with a strong view on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Implement automation across the team, for internal and customer facing platforms such as self healing environments or actions from monitoring to automating delivery
  • Be an advocate for continuous improvement, engaging internal and external partners to deliver the best technology outcomes
  • Build an engaged. healthy, collaborative, and inclusive team of highly skilled technical consultants and engineers
  • Foster strong relationships and ties with other IT teams and leaders be a proactive partner to enable and improve productivity and satisfaction with our platforms and tools
  • Ensure the observability and compliance of all infrastructure as well as the effective management of vulnerabilities ensuring proper governance, security control, identity, and access management
  • Lead and partner with CSIO on ongoing threat assessment, maintain operational risk and compliance controls provide regular reporting to the enterprise risk management committee, IFC board of directors and regulators
  • Proactively anticipate issues and difficult situations and take the necessary steps to resolve them

What you bring to the table:


Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or another relevant field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience managing large technical teams in an agile/scrum environment
  • Proven leadership over major transformation and technology projects at large institutions
  • Experience managing private and hybrid cloud environments including AWS, Azure
  • Understanding of architecture and agile development methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, engage and develop worldclass technology groups
  • Experience in operations, infrastructure, database, and middleware management
  • Experience managing major transformation, multiple projects, and operations at the same time
  • Experience managing large budgets (+$50M)
