Astute Class Training Services team
The Astute Class Training Services Team operates a diverse suite of high‑fidelity training media used to prepare Royal Navy personnel for life on board submarines. This includes three major training systems: the Weapon Handling and Loading Trainer (a large mechanical trainer used to manoeuvre torpedoes and weapons), the Command Team Trainer used to train submarine command crews, and VORTEX, a 3D immersive training environment for submarine maintainers learning subsystems and equipment. The team also delivers classroom‑based training and supports a large, complex networked simulator environment.
As a Simulation Support Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring all training media is fully operational and ready for daily training delivery. You'll support and maintain a wide range of systems, from computer networks and hardware to hydraulics, pneumatics, and large mechanical equipment.
