The Rapid Mobile Case Manager is a Contract role for up to 18 months.

The Rapid Mobile Case Manager is will provide rapid rehousing supports to families and women who are residing in overflow hotel or shelters within Hamilton.

The goal of the program is to help families and women achieve their housing goals within 30 days or less.


  • Majority of this role is completed in the community and in the individual's residence
  • Rapid Mobile Case Manager's will work closely with emergency shelters and partner agencies to leverage and coordinate the assets and services available in Hamilton
  • Ensure that families and women have their individualized housing and support needs met
  • Time management skills are necessary in a high energy, changing environment
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Possess a working knowledge of issues related to genderbased violence, trauma, homelessness, mental health and substance use
  • Work from a traumainformed, antiracist, antioppressive and feminist framework

Qualifications

  • A postsecondary education in a social service related field is required
  • Have experience working with and knowledge of a range of issues impacting women, and families including homelessness, violence against women and children, immigration, poverty, mental illness and substance use
  • Sound understanding of the housing system in Hamilton, the Residential Tenancies Act, and the Ontario Human Rights Code required
  • Minimum two years' experience working in community outreach or emergency shelter is required.
  • CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required
  • Valid G license required.
  • Must have a flexible schedule
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Committed to antiracist/antioppressive practice and to the mission and values of Good Shepherd Centres
  • Fluency in a language in addition to English is an asset

Hours of work: Shifts are day shifts (9a.m. to 5p.m.) and one evening shift per week (11a.m. to 7p.m.) and one Saturday per rotation. Some flexibility in work hours may be required.
