LOCATION:

Ottawa, ON, Canada ABSTRACT FOR MITIGATION SUPERVISOR ROLE Directs the resources and oversees all Crew Chiefs used in providing services to deal with insurance claims and in mitigating both personal and commercial property losses.

The services provided include, structural tear out, content manipulation, pack outs, hazard assessment, mold/asbestos abatement, fire, oil spills, large losses, special projects, cleaning and demolition.

NATURE & SCOPE


Performs a wide variety of supervision duties and is delegated some authority to coordinate many aspects of getting work performed and jobs completed.

Duties shall include but not be limited to: PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Maintaining 'ownership' of all the activities related to each assigned job until such time that all paperwork is submitted, and the job is closed and passed back over to the Estimator/Project Manager.
  • Liaising with Estimators/Project Managers/Customers before project starts to obtain a complete understanding of what work needs to be performed.
  • Responsible for all the work results (including all work performed and all related paperwork) produced by their sub team(s).
  • Traveling back and forth between work sites setting up the crews, assigning the work, checking progress, monitoring/measuring team performance, giving the homeowner confidence that a senior person is managing the job (even though not always on site), act as a single point of contact, monitoring quality of the work performed, etc
  • Getting into the trenches with the sub teams to lend some technical assistance or a hand to get a job completed quicker.
  • Visiting ongoing jobs to take moisture readings.
  • Generating work orders to have equipment picked up, garbage to be picked up, content to be returned, etc.
  • Planning execution of the job with Crew Chiefs referring to specifications of loss type and industry standards.
  • Clearly communicating all job requirements including but not necessarily limited to; job schedules, work plans, abatement techniques, equipment usage, hazardous conditions and safety procedures, damage control procedures, job site layout, sampling, reporting, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintaining and promoting good customer relations at all times

EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT

  • Evaluating Crew Chiefs working on the job and communicating performance standards and evaluations to management.
  • Taking disciplinary action when any Crew Chief, Technician or Labourer working on the job is in violation of Company policy, regulatory standards, or jobsitespecific rules.
  • Providing input, feedback, and recommendations regarding employee performance for annual evaluations.
  • Maintaining high production, safe work habits, and high morale/motivational levels on all of the jobs supervised
  • Ensuring that work teams complete and forward all necessary paperwork as directed.
HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Be an active member of the company Health and Safety committee
  • Training employees as required on job techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use
  • Carries out daily safety talks to all mitigation staff
  • Monitors Crew Chiefs and other staff to ensure Health & Safety legislations, policies and procedures are being followed
  • Responsible for ensuring completion of jobsite inspection reports
  • Conducting an accident/incident investigation in accordance with company policy should a work site injury or loss of equipment or property occurs.
  • Notifying the company Health and Safety Coordinator of the details related to the accident or incident.
  • Ensuring that all necessary information and posted notices required on the job site have been posted by each team for each job these may include but not necessarily be limited to: job site health and safety plan, MSDSs, required Asbestos notices, required labour postings, WSIB information, emergency phone numbers, and similar information.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ensuring that all work results will comply with The Clean Trust standards and withstand any questions related to our methodologies and best practices.
  • Maintaining the right set of paperwork that ensures that we have a documented history of the work performed that will withstand the scrutiny of anyone who might have a civil interest in the work we performed.
  • Ensuring that we deliver a consistent, valued customer experience and they speak well of PDS Ottawa and our staff.
  • Ensuring that the Estimators/Project Managers get all things they require to complete the work they perform
  • Ensuring that accounting gets all the paperwork they require in order to complete payroll and do proper job costing.
  • Ensuring that PDS Ottawa maximizes profits by building effective teams that work efficiently and are focused on keeping the costs associated with doing the work to a minimum.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • 5 Years of industry related experience
  • Must be willing to complete IICRC Certifications
  • Health & Safety knowl
