Who we need:


Reporting to the Director, People, the People Manager is responsible for human resources expertise and coaching to managers and people operations support.

This position provides in-depth people operations and policy guidance and partners closely with management to provide People guidance, support, and solutions that drive organizational success.


Specific responsibilities include:
employee relations, onboarding, and human resources expertise and coaching to management.

Contributes to a working environment where all team members can be their best selves, grow and thrive, to support our corporate mission of championing student success.


What you will do:

  • Serve as a People partner and trusted advisor to managers, providing guidance on talent management, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and People best practices.
  • Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement, and use datadriven insights to inform People strategies and decisionmaking.
  • With the support of other team members and leadership, participating in small projects within the people team.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in other teams on crossfunctional projects and initiatives, to support the strategic imperatives.
  • Contributing to a positive corporate culture that supports equity, inclusion, learning, and wellness.
  • Upholding the integrity of university policies and complies with employment standards legislation.

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in human resources and employee relations, including significant experience in an HR Business Partner or strategic People/HR role.
  • Strong knowledge of People/HR best practices, including talent management, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence managementlevel stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR initiatives with business goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and People/HR compliance requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as CHRP are preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (or international equivalent).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams).
