Spaces and Experiences operates undergraduate and graduate student housing on the St. George campus.
These include Graduate House and Chestnut Residence, with the addition of Knox Residence soon, and two new residences currently in development:
Spadina-Sussex, and Harbord Residence.

Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Assistant to the Dean, Residence Life and Communication (ADRLC), the Service Coordinator (SC) is responsible for overseeing the Service Desk operations at Knox Residence, which is a residence community of over 100 graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Toronto.
issuing keys, checking in residents, receiving and issuing parcels, and responding to inquiries.
The SC oversees a team of Service Desk Assistants (SDAs) that staff the service desk and works closely with the ADRLC in recruitment, training, and supporting the Service Desk team in their ongoing development.
Additionally, the SC is embedded in a larger Residence Life team that manages the overall functions of the residence operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
- Troubleshooting and resolving routine issues
- Booking rooms and arranging appropriate accommodations
- Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and followup items
- Formatting and maintaining communication templates
- Serving as a resource to others by providing (nonsupervisory) jobrelated guidance
- Coordinating the recruitment process and training of casual staff
Essential Qualifications:
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum three (3) years related experience in a postsecondary environment and preferably in a residence environment
- Advanced computer skills relating to Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Strong analytical ability and aptitude for figures
- Strong keyboarding and data entry skills
- Excellent customer service skills, providing detailed information and support to various stakeholder. Active listening, and verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
