About the role


Canadian Blood Services is looking for a
Regular full-time Analyst IT Field
Support to join our dynamic
IT Infrastructure Operations & Delivery team.


The
IT Infrastructure Operations & Delivery team is responsible for managing and maintaining Canadian Blood Services IT infrastructure to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of its technology systems.


In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination and management of field location Information Technology (IT) support services and staff.

You will also support our Project Management Office (PMO) with the implementation of new equipment or processes.


Formula for success

  • Utilizing your technical expertise, you will perform field information technology support for all applicable CBS sites, providing consultation in matters relating to information technology and management. You will be responsible for onsite and remote support of Canadian Blood Services sites.
  • Leveraging your coordination skills, you will handle the storage, retrieval, and disposition of records at the site level.
  • Harnessing your skills and experience in IT, you will troubleshoot, resolve and document problem management tickets.
  • Drawing on your collaboration skills, you will assist HO and IT staff to identify the root cause of technical errors and also coordinate third party vendors/service providers for IT systems and equipment. You will liaise with HO/IT to ensure resolution of technical issues; coordinates onsite technical support as required and ensures procurement and installation of all applicable CBS sites hardware and software, as per Canadian Blood Services standards and procedures.
  • Leveraging your drive for excellence, you will maintain a current working knowledge and ensure compliance with all relevant operating procedures, policies, and other related documentation pertaining to Canadian Blood Services operations.

Desired education and skills

  • Graduate from a recognized postsecondary information technology program/institution or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the IT Field with desktop support and knowledge of Cisco products i.e. Jabber and Finesse.
  • Experience in a computer services/support role in a regulated environment.
  • Five years' previous experience providing customer support and vendor management in an operations environment.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the job.
