Marketing: Graphics Desitner - Kelowna, Canada - Big White Ski Resort
Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Graphic Designer to join our team at Big White Ski Resort for 4 days, or 32 hours per week.
You will be responsible for creating visually appealing and innovative designs that promote our brand, events and activities, and attract destination visitors to our resort.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing and onmountain teams to develop concepts for print and digital graphics that inspire and enhance the brand of Canada's favourite family resort.
- Contribute to the design and production of resort merchandise, promotional materials and signage for events, activations and tradeshows.
- Maintain branding guidelines and standards for the resort, ensuring consistency and quality across all design channels.
- Maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail while working on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Liaise with external clients and commercial print companies and external companies on projects in a professional manner.
- Assist in converting supplied video content and graphics for various mediums.
- Stay uptodate on new graphic design trends, software updates, and technology advancements to improve overall design quality and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Degree in graphic design, visual communication or related experience
- 2+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in the tourism, recreation or hospitality industry
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- A keen eye for detail and aesthetics, particularly layout and typography
- Prior experience working with commercial print companies, including knowledge of file preparation and prepress requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment, handle multiple priorities and work independently.
- Highly desirable:
- Experience with Adobe video and animation software.
- Prior experience working with content management systems to help maintain websites, including a basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
- A passion for outdoor adventure, including snow spots, biking and hiking
The position will be based in our Kelowna office, but the ideal applicant would be willing to work from the resort 1-2 days/week as needed.
