Job Summary

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports in a timely manner; working with the CFO, ensures that the reported monthly financial statements comply with US generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Recommends and implements KPIs that will be used to measure the company's performance.
  • Assists the FP&A team in producing the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
  • Files monthly, quarterly and annual reports in compliance with provincial and federal government requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with local, provincial, and federal government requirements.
  • Notify and report to senior management concerning any trends that are critical to the organization's financial performance.
  • Track and report on royalty payments.
  • Oversee Clintar payroll.
  • Potentially oversees franchisee bookkeeping function.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
  • Organize, train and manage accounting staff.

Required Qualifications

  • CA certification or a bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Ten years or more of Accounting experience required.
  • Experience with managing and supervising a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software (Netsuite, MS GP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • US accounting experience
  • Experience working in the franchising industry that undertakes royalty accounting.

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Able to travel as needed.

Pay:
$88,763.83-$158,000.00 per year
