What You'll Do;


As a Payroll and Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for payroll, benefits and HRIS administration for our Canadian-wide workforce across our 47 Golf Town stores, reporting to our Sporting Life Group Payroll Manager.


You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all administration aspects of payroll preparation, compliance with accounting and audit standards, and preparing government remittances in compliance with all payroll laws and regulations.

In addition, you will be employee-facing, answering any payroll-related inquiries and resolving issues for the Employee Services team, including addressing questions about pay, time/labour system hours, vacation and sick time accruals, changes to employee records, and more.


  • Inputting, uploading and reviewing pay data into our webbased payroll system ADP while verifying and auditing all payroll data for new associates, transfers, terminations and continuously managing changes
  • Performing manual calculations for applicable adjustments such as vacation, sick, bonus payments, taxable benefits and special adjustments, recording changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, garnishments, etc
  • Enrol associates in the appropriate benefit plan and administer processes with various benefits providers while preparing and distributing employee benefits packages/cards
  • Manage benefit deductions and taxable benefits in the payroll system and perform regular audits on the Benefits Plan (checking hours, rates of pay, terminations)

What You'll Bring;

  • Previous payroll and benefits administration experience ideally within a fastpaced retail environment with a Canadian Payroll Association (PCP) certification
  • Exposure to webbased payroll systems, ideally Ceridian DayForce or ADP WFN)
  • Strong analytical skills with a passion for process improvement, with indepth knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
