As a Materials Technology Field Technician, you will carry out geotechnical site inspection and laboratory testing services for various construction projects within Whitby and surrounding area.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Conducting compaction testing during Site grading and backfilling operations, including sampling soil and aggregates for laboratory analysis.
Concrete and asphalt sampling and testing for various building and infrastructure projects.
Support field staff in investigative work including concrete coring, tensile bond testing, dowel testing, test pit investigations, and site data collection.

What you will bring to the team:

Competent with the use of Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
Ability to lift and carry 23.7 kg (50 lbs.)
Willingness to work a regular 40hour work week and possible overtime up to a limit of 13 hours total per day.
Willingness to travel up to 200 km per day.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
