Description
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) requires aPolicy Advisor to provide support to develop and maintain highly complex policy and program design initiatives to support the AGCO's regulated businesses and the government's policy agenda for the alcohol, gaming, cannabis, and horse racing sectors in Ontario.
The incumbent will perform critical work in supporting the development, analysis, and implementation of policies, standards, and other regulatory mechanisms required to implement government and AGCO initiatives.
What can I expect to do in this role?: Under the supervision of managers within the Strategic Policy and Planning Branch, and within a branch matrix structure, you will:
- use superior analytical, organizational, and research skills to contribute to the design and implementation of effective policy options documents using relevant research materials;
- interpret and analyze proposals, jurisprudence and issues related to agency legislation and programs;
- participate in the development of submissions, policies, projects, and supporting materials;
- coordinate and lead analysis, options development, and business process design projects;
- adapt to changes in direction and strategy;
- use your well-developed oral and written communication skills, along with your ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner to assist and support policy and program consultations with ministries and AGCO stakeholders.
