Fiber Optic Technician


Millside Total Communications is a full-service telecommunications company providing data, fiber, voice and video cabling design & installation solutions, telecom equipment sales & service and telco carrier solutions.

We work on new construction, in large industrial & warehouse spaces, in corporate office environments and small business settings.

We are currently searching for an experienced Fiber Optic Technician to join our Operations team. As a Technician at Millside you must be motivated, customer focused and team oriented.

Our technicians are available to work as both part of the team and independently, and our expectation is that you will deliver exceptional service to our customers with their needs in mind, providing quality workmanship at all times.


Responsibilities:


  • Installation, maintenance and repair of fiber equipment, products and services.
  • Terminate, splice and test SM & MM fiber optic cables.
  • Terminate fiber optic connectors
  • ST, SC, LC.
  • Work with Project Manager to perform fusion splicing as directed.
  • Execute projects and adjust to changing priorities effectively.
  • Completion of assigned work to the highest of standards.
  • Commitment to all company safety rules and guidelines.
  • Ensure vehicle, test equipment and tools are kept safe and in good condition.
  • Manage your work via our field service mobile app
  • Complete detailed work orders following each job to ensure accurate billing.

Requirements:


  • Experience in installation, maintenance and repair of fiber optic cabling mandatory.
  • Experience in installation, maintenance and repair of copper cabling an asset.
  • Experience utilizing testing tools.
  • Ability to work at heights comfortably on ladders and lift devices.
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to take ownership and responsibility of your work.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problemsolving skills.
  • Valid provincial 'G' driver's license and clean driver's abstract mandatory.
  • Ability to distinguish colours.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment / materials.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$28.00-$32.00 per hour
