Risk Management - Insurance Specialist

As part of the Corporate Risk team, you will perform the activities that will benefit the subsidiaries of the Giampaolo Group by providing a first-class approach to service, standards, and key reporting requirements for both internal and external stakeholders, execution of risk management activities to ensure efficient operation of the Company's cash flow and cash management.

Purpose

The Risk Management - Insurance Specialist

You will have

  • Postsecondary diploma or degree in business administration, risk management or a relevant discipline
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation; Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation;
  • 5+ years Commercial Lines underwriting or broker experience with a strong emphasis on complex CGL and Property exposures,
  • Broad knowledge of commercial insurance & underwriting issues
  • Highlevel knowledge of commercial property/casualty policies such as CGL, D&O, Property, Boiler & Machinery, Crime, Automobile, Cyber, Cargo;

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and maintain premium allocation model.
  • Coordinate site visits and track recommendations/status of completions (property insurance).
  • Develop best practices and controls.
  • Review, interpret and advise on insurance language in contracts and leases.
  • Actively supervise and manage adjustment of insurance claims; work with business units to secure supporting documentation and favorable loss settlement.
  • Monitor receipt of claim funds on a timely basis and accurately record them.
  • Follow up for outstanding documentation from insurance brokers/insurers/adjusters and stakeholders.
  • Assist with insurance renewal assembling underwriting information from business units for our providers
  • Insurance: own the corporatewide insurance policies

Bachelors Degree, in Finance. Or, B Admin, BBA

The Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) Designation

Canadian Risk Management ( CRM ) Certificate

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Excellent negotiation skills and communication ability.

Inquisitive, detail orientated with strong analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.

Someone with "High-Intermediate" to "Advanced" knowledge of MS Office

Scope

Canada, USA, Mexico locations - Triple M, Venture/GAT Steel, Matalco, Quantum.

Office location - Brampton (Goreway and Steeles)

In-office position.
