Fund Development Associate - Volunteer Position

Role Description:

Reporting to the Fund Development Director, the Fund Development Associate will be responsible for all administrative matters in support of fund development initiatives at Youth Rising Above, including supporting donor acquisition and stewardship tasks.

This role will also be responsible for supporting the development and promotion of marketing tools, including social media posts catered to fund development, donor recognition literature which highlights YRA sponsors, print mail campaigns, etc.

The Fund Development Associate will be responsible for research initiatives on potential fundraising opportunities, building and maintaining a donor pipeline, and connecting with various businesses/corporations in order to highlight sponsorship opportunities.

This role will also support the administration of annual tax receipts for donors.


Responsibilities/Duties

  • Manage all aspects of donor databases, including data entry, data integrity, updates and corrections
  • Create social media content to highlight and recognize donors, or to attract new donors around fundraising campaigns
  • Assist in creating literature or marketing tools that keep donors informed about YRA events and/or initiatives
  • Create recognition tools for donors, including donor appreciation letters and certificates
  • Support with the planning, delivery and evaluation of crowdfunding campaigns
  • Support with the administration of community engagement activities with regards to fundraising, including keeping community members informed, providing them with applicable resources, and advising them on YRA organizational practices
  • Support with the development and implementation of a donor stewardship program, including creating donation categories and incentive levels
  • Support with the ordering of fund development supplies or services, including printing, donor appreciation gifts, marketing services, etc.
  • Lead the development, distribution and tracking of donor tax receipts on an annual basis
  • Support the fund development team with the creation, delivery and evaluation of its annual fundraising plan
  • Support with the operations of fund development events, including ticket sales, promotion, set up, tear down, and reporting as required
  • Attend 2hour monthly all
- staff meeting and monthly additional fund development meetings as required

  • Promotes YRA within the community through inperson, print and electronic media
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Fund Development Director

Qualifications

  • A strong intrinsic desire to serve youth atrisk through a startup nonprofit organization capacity
  • Preferred minimum 1 year nonprofit fundraising experience
  • Demonstrated strength in using various electronic media, including social media platforms, search engines, databases and marketing tools
  • Demonstrated experience with community outreach initiatives
  • Excellent customer services skills especially in support of donor stewardship
  • Excellent organization skills and an attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects
  • Excellent abilities in written and visual communication, and interpersonal communication, including the development of various marketing material which are compelling and professional
  • Excellent strategic and analytical thinking
