Scope:

The Schedule Insights Analyst reports into the Manager, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Transformation as part of the Network Planning team.

Their role will be to support initiatives to improve Air Canada's network design, towards being an industry leader for on-time-performance focused on the customer while maintaining profitability and schedule connectivity.

This individual will work on developing leading edge Artificial Intelligence technology to conduct in-depth analysis on multiple facets of Air Canada's schedule's integrity and make recommendations for future improvements.


  • Contribute to the success of the development and implementation of an AIdriven ontimeperformance optimization tool.
  • Drive data validation and analysis with the goal of improving the tool prior to, and following its introduction to users, for both Network Planning and Operations teams

Be a key resource in monitoring the tool's output quality and accuracy, as well as assist users when conducting analyses of their own.


  • Using thorough analysis, understand Air Canada's schedule past structure and execution to better calibrate the tool for future changes in either delivery or operational constraints.
  • Participate in the development of data visualizations (UI/UX) to present actionable results to the business stakeholders and maximize adoption of the solution.
  • Leverage the tool to perform analysis on Air Canada's schedule integrity and suggest recommendations on important schedule design parameters such as block, aircraft turn and passenger connection times.
  • Monitor block time performance and analyze historical block times.
  • Monitor and analyze, on a regular basis, historical passenger misconnections, investigating the cause and working closely with Operations, Planning and Scheduling teams on minimizing future recurrences.
  • Assist with developing strategies and scenarios for schedule and fleet optimization.
  • Conduct a variety of analyses, which will include data sourcing, results investigation, detailed reporting and visualization; present findings to the leadership team.

Qualifications

  • University degree required with specialization in business analytics, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, operations research, business technology management, engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Solid analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to generate Excel reports and successfully translate and communicate the data at various levels
  • Proficiency in PowerBI is an asset.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills and a desire to work in cross functional teams.
  • Handson team player who is interested in continuously learning skills and new technologies.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and think outside the box to find creative solutions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Strong Results Orientation and sense of ownership
  • Brings highenergy and a passionate outlook to the role
