Job Summary


The role of Expert, Product Manager translates business requirements into formal product roadmaps and works closely with the Business and I&T stakeholders to operationalize these roadmaps for initial development and evolution of the product.

The Expert, Product Manager supports the full lifecycle of the product and as such seeks regular customer feedback related to the product to understand and improve customer satisfaction.


Main Responsibilities

Business Partnering

  • Create trusted relationships between the Business and I&T organization, ensuring that there is a clear communication channel between the two, making recommendations to ensure product expectations are aligned
  • Work with the Business to capture, identify and develop a pipeline of product opportunities and innovative ideas
  • Translate business' needs into features through a formal product roadmap
  • Works in close collaboration with the product owners in Business and I&T delivery teams to operationalize the development and evolution of product roadmaps while respecting architecture and governance guidelines
  • Manages intake for both projects and enhancements
  • Shapes business cases (including the need for change / objective, strategic alignment, benefits, etc.) and promotes Business sponsorship
  • Support the annual budget planning exercises led by Finance
  • Provide business leaders with insight into innovative technologies that may enhance or disrupt business models / capabilities
  • Work with Architecture and Delivery Managers to ensure the clarity and accuracy of the product requirements

Evolving Product Management Discipline

  • Drive the 35 year product vision and strategy for human resource products and paint a clear path on how to get there
  • Work closely with business, operations, and technology teams to develop a roadmap that addresses the needs of our users
  • Prioritize product development activities to ensure alignment to both the business and technology strategies
  • Facilitate the definition and tracking of key metrics related to the product (e.g., performance, financials, etc.)
  • Work with a crossfunctional team to develop a comprehensive and bold digital growth vision, strategy, roadmap, and set key business objectives for the product
  • Leverage product knowledge, and growth drivers, as well as customer insights and analytics to prioritize the direction and desired outcomes for product's digital journey
  • Become a domain expert by gaining a deep understanding of relevant technology & industry trends, competitive dynamics, and provide a knowledgeable perspective
  • Engage with vendors to understand and influence their product evolution based on CN's strategic needs
  • Ensure project and enhancement teams deliver product features based on requirements and release scope

Requirements:


Experience
years overall work experience

  • 3+ years knowledge and experience with designing SAP ECC 6.0 HCM solutions in Personnel Administration (PA), Org Management (OM), Benefits and Time
  • Experience with SuccessFactors or other HCM
  • Experience with HCM Security an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging senior leaders and other stakeholders to support business decisions
  • Experience in shaping, building, scaling and sustaining products
  • Experience in transportation & logistics companies
  • Any experience for these above would be considered an asset

Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or business administration or equivalent degree and experience
  • Master's degree in engineering or administration would be an asset*
