Matalco Inc. operates a manufacturing facility in Brampton, Ontario which produces 6000 series extrusion grade aluminum billet/log. We are currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accounts Payable Administrator. This is a full time position offering a total rewards package, including competitive wage, group benefits and pension; with opportunities for career advancement in a growing company. The AP Administrator will be responsible for ensuring that non-inventory related invoices are recorded in a timely manner and that suppliers/vendors and paid within their negotiated terms. This role supports a centralized AP function.


This position requires a strong team-player with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; positive attitude; multi-tasking abilities; strong organizational and follow up skills; strong communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the centralized inbox for invoices from suppliers/vendors to ensure liabilities are recorded in a timely manner;
  • Ensure accuracy and documentation of all pieces of the accounts payable function, including accuracy of invoices, purchase orders, payments, data entry and filing;
  • Ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices from suppliers/vendors and reimbursement of employee expenses;
  • Continue to find improvements and efficiencies for processing and departmental internal controls.

Requirements:


  • Minimum of 2 years administrative experience, preferably in Accounting or Bookkeeping;
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements;
  • Excellent mathematical skills;
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality;
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite of products, including computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs.

$50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
