In this role, you will examine, assess, and manage a caseload of short-term disability claims.

You will communicate with employers, employees, advisors, insuring partners, and healthcare practitioners to develop and facilitate modified and accommodated return to work programs.

This will involve obtaining required functional abilities information to assess ongoing benefits entitlement, and addressing any barriers, impacting return to work opportunities.

You will also assist the employee and employer transition to a long-term disability program if required, including monitoring the status of long-term disability claims with insurance carriers.


Qualifications:


  • Ability to communicate fluently in French and English (oral and written)
  • One to three years' experience managing shortterm disability claims or employerbased return to work or disability management programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic, returntowork focused support to employees
  • Strong organizational, analytical, time management and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel
  • Knowledge and experience with developing and facilitating modified and accommodated return to work programs
  • Certification in disability management, return to work coordination, or rehabilitation consulting would be considered an asset
  • University degree or college diploma in a related field would be considered an asset
