Intended job posting audienceA culinary instructor is responsible for teaching culinary arts and related courses to students who are interested in pursuing a career in the food industry. The instructor's primary responsibilities include developing lesson plans, preparing course materials, delivering lectures, leading demonstrations, and evaluating student progress.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver instructional materials for culinary arts courses, such as baking, cooking, and food preparation techniques.
Conduct classroom lectures, discussions, and demonstrations to teach students about culinary arts.
Plan and oversee hands-on cooking activities, including recipe development, ingredient selection, and food presentation.
Provide feedback and guidance to students on their cooking skills, including proper knife handling, cooking techniques, and sanitation practices.
Assess and grade students' performance on assignments, projects, and exams.
Collaborate with other culinary instructors to develop course content, create educational materials, and evaluate program effectiveness.
Stay current with industry trends and developments by attending professional development workshops, conferences, and other training opportunities.
Maintain a safe and clean learning environment by enforcing sanitation standards and kitchen safety protocols.
Manage classroom supplies, equipment, and inventory, ensuring that all equipment is maintained and repaired as needed
