Summary:


We are searching for an experienced and passionate professional to lead our Marketing team in the role of Vice President, Marketing.

As the VP, Marketing, you will lead the marketing division and will be responsible for all marketing aspects including, overall strategic direction of marketing, brands, consumer experience, creative, quality assurance, francization, digital, print and e-commerce.


In this role, you will play a key role in leading the vision and strategy of the Marketing division and shaping the future of our brand roadmap, translating into an exceptional consumer experience, and resulting in growing our brand and market share across the industry.


Reporting to the President, you will be a key member of Lee Valley's senior leadership team and will represent our brand values while leading with integrity with a demonstrated passion for the team, the customer experience and the Lee Valley brand.

The Vice President, Marketing will drive operational excellence by leading the implementation of advertising and marketing plans.

The incumbent will be the efficiency, process, creative, quality and content management evangelist inside and outside the company, promoting enthusiasm and desire to continually optimize our systems and processes.


As the VP, Marketing you will...

  • Responsible for the vision, strategy and execution of the overall marketing function and operations supporting all product lines of business.
  • Have a passion for creating and nurturing an easy streamlined and continuous customer experience.
  • Identify and manage strategic and tactical priorities while working with merchandising, operations, customer service and technology to drive best practices and business results.
  • Partner with internal team and vendors to ensure approaches and requirements are understood and interpreted appropriately for quality delivery and execution.
  • Maintain a presence and continuously build connections with store and other teams to better understand the demands of the business.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to prioritize and drive collaborative change throughout the organization.
  • Communicate complex situations into clear presentations for senior leadership, and deliver levelappropriate presentations with agility and executive presence.
  • Foster a work environment that embodies the core values of Lee Valley.
  • Champion and develop a diverse and inclusive team environment.
  • Continuously update the team's understanding of the strategic vision, clarifying the deliverables and ensuring the team is tuned into market dynamics.
  • Lead the implementation of category specific strategies to support successful advertising, digital marketing and lead generation campaign strategies with maximum return on investment
  • Develop all marketing KPI's and tracking systems to measure marketing and brand performance success against KPI targets.
  • Responsible for crossfunctional integrated planning and execution related to each category strategy
  • Support, develop and mentor a strong team of marketing professionals

As an experienced professional, you will have...

  • A proven track record with at least 10+ years of progressive leadership in marketing and ecommerce growth, with the last five years working at a senior level in the organization.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or other related fields; an MBA would be an asset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and French (would be an asset).
  • Extensive experience running a Marketing department for a medium to large Retail business with a proven success record.
  • Exceptional digital and analytical skills supported by your marketing management experience.
  • Must have strong proficiency using Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and ability to leverage required tools supporting the Marketing functions.
