JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:


  • As a member of the IT Business Management team, this position is responsible for resource
- planning and resource strategy recommendations, business planning, performance reporting, and
- risk assessment for the Technology key business unit. This role will work broadly across all

  • Technology teams, as well as with the Enterprise Business Planning, Risk & Performance team,
- to enable business management outcomes.
  • Assists with the development of Technology's resource and workforce plan and strategies by:
  • Establishing strong understanding of IT functions, priorities, workplans and projects;
  • Gathering relevant data and information from multiple sources and analyzing data to gain insight
into resource and workforce requirements;- Making recommendations on new resource strategies including evaluation of options to

outsource work to third parties;- Developing presentations, reports, briefing notes and other forms of communication related to

resource planning/strategies to be used in leadership team presentations.- Assists with the development of Technology's annual business plan and actions plans by:

  • Reviewing Technology strategies, plans, assessments, and audits to identify key business unit
priorities;- Preparing recommendations for business plan objectives, action plans, metrics and targets for

workshops with the Technology leadership team;- Coordinating leadership team workshops and document outcomes;

  • Drafting components of Technology's annual business plan;
  • Developing action plan tracker and preparing monthly progress report for the Technology
leadership team.- Leads monthly performance reporting to the Technology Leadership by:

  • Maintaining and evolving the Technology performance scorecard to track progress;
  • Gathering performance data, conducting data quality checks, performing trend analyses and
- following up on anomalies as required;
  • Interpreting performance results and preparing key performance highlights for broad
communication;- Compiling the monthly scorecard for publishing;

  • Providing insights to the Technology leadership team on current performance and business
improvement opportunities.- Develops and implements Technology's performance metrics by:

  • Reviewing existing performance metrics and targets in consultation with stakeholders to assess
need for updates that will support achievement of strategic outcomes;- Conducting research, performing benchmarking against industry peers, and working with

stakeholders to identify recommendations for new metrics and/or targets;- Interpreting and summarizing data into meaningful insights and recommendations to align with

best practices;- Preparing business case for changes to metrics and/or targets;

  • Implementing changes to metrics and/or targets.
  • Manages Technology's risk register in alignment with BC Hydro's Corporate Risk Matrix by:
  • Updating Technology's risk register, including risk descriptions, risk drivers, risk scores and risk
mitigations;- Coordinating regular risk reviews with risk owners and/or the leadership team;

  • Engaging stakeholders to gather input on the Technology's risk register;
  • Coordinating Technology risk updates to the Board and Executive team with the Corporate
Business Planning, Risk & Performance team and relevant Technology risk owners.- Tracks results and produce reports as required for other IT Business Management functions by:

  • Tracking and reporting on progress on corrective actions resulting from external and internal
Technology audits;- Producing vendor reports from standard SAP reports in support of Technology vendor

management;- Tracking results and produce reports as required for other IT Business Management functions.


Qualifications:

***- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Applied Science or other relevant discipline, or

equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.- Five years of experience in a business management function, leading projects or programs with

multiple stakeholders and cross-functional working teams.- Demonstrated ability and good understanding of business management f
