    Job Family Responsibilities:

  • Advises and assists site supervisors on EHS matters, including fact/data gathering, problem identification/resolution and offering objective assistance and guidance on EHS matters.
  • Designs and implements major EHS initiatives as assigned.
  • Administrative responsibilities: records/file maintenance; reports development.
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Area of responsibility is primarily tactical/operational in nature, with limited strategic impact.
  • Typical responsibility for innovation is to continuously enhance or improve existing policies, products, and methods.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves EHS issues at installation sites.
  • Conducts EHS audits and Safety Observations for customer service and installation sites and reports issues using a Dematic standard format.
  • Communication with site management/supervision on identified EHS issues and concerns and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide weekly status reports to EHS Manager and other Dematic area managers as required.
  • Upload EHS site information (audits, findings and incidents) into Gensuite and follow up for closure of corrective actions.
  • Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide site EHS induction training/orientation training and coordinate regulatory training with external suppliers.
  • Gathering/managing training certifications for employees and contractors onsite
  • Make sure project compliance with applicable local OHS regulations and laws, including COVID-19 safety measures.
  • Communication with site management/supervision on identified EHS issues and concerns and improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in residence site/project meetings and address safety issues discussed in the meeting.
  • Report to site supervisor safety deviations from other trades and/or customer employees that could represent a risk of injury to Dematic personnel.
  • Perform safety observations and audits, including COVID-19 audits.
  • Inspect site emergency response equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, etc.) as scheduled.
  • Assist site supervisor/manager and workers in conducting risk assessments for the job.
  • Assist site supervisor/manager with conducting incident investigations.
  • Upload safety audits and incident investigation into Gensuite.
  • Follow up to closure of safety corrective actions resulted from safety audits and incidents.
  • Assist site supervisor with handling COVID-19 confirmed cases – follow company protocol
  • Coordinate the inspection of such as harnesses, slings, emergency response equipment as needed.Ensure safety supplies stocked on site and arrange replenishment order as required of PPE including COVID-19 supplies (hand sanitizer, face masks and cleaning/ disinfecting solutions)
  • Conducts and/or assists Site Supervisor in daily safety toolbox talks and weekly safety talks.
  • Maintain EHS forms available onsite and keep EHS site board updated and in good condition.
  • Assist with maintaining residence site designated area and/or installation project trailer cleanliness and proper waste disposal.
  • Administer first aid as needed or seek medical assistance for all injuries.
  • Assist site supervisor/manager during a visit of a Ministry of Labour inspector.
