We are currently searching for an
Assistant Manager, Automation. This is a
Full-Time Permanent opportunity
.

Location:
This role is based out of our Port Coquitlam Distribution Centre.


Who We Are

What You'll Be Doing

  • Responsible for all current and future site automation and the related performance, enhancement, system and vendor support
  • Provide hands on leadership and support for Technicians, Supervisors, as well as onsite and offsite thirdparty support teams regarding all automated warehouse functions
  • Support and/or lead any recovery, troubleshooting and analysis efforts, reporting all downtime with focus on root cause analysis and preventative action
  • Monitor's facility and individual performance, staffing levels, and attendance
  • You will support the team's knowledge of current and future automation requirements by providing training, education and documentation
  • Ensures facility and warehouse equipment are maintained in accordance with established guidelines
  • Ensures facility implements and maintains effective health and safety programs that meet federal, provincial, and corporate requirements
  • Develops policies and followups with supervisors to ensure consistent enforcement of policies regarding security of facilities, assets, products, and employees
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with peers, subordinates, leaders, customers, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate, manage and communicate projects scheduled maintenance and recoveries
  • Responds appropriately to changes and demonstrates flexibility
  • Challenges and questions the status quo in a positive manner and looks for creative approaches and new solutions
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Undergraduate Degree or Certification in a field within Industrial Automation; which may cover Relational Databases, Industrial Controls, Network Administration
  • 23 years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity
  • 35 years of experience in industrial automation
  • Supplemental experience in one or any of the following areas would be required: industrial controls, relational databases, or troubleshooting network architecture
  • 23 years experience working with relational databases (ie. Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle SQL Server)
  • Experience using reporting software, preferably SSRS or Power BI
  • Experience using ERP and WMS systems including SAP (ECC, EWM, ORTEC) and Wonderware (system platform, MES, EI, and workflow)
  • Experience in Project management, including requirements gathering, design, build, testing and implementation
  • Proficient with MS office suite
  • Demonstrates a strong combination of handson and strategic leadership
  • Capable of understanding the distribution automation strategy and translating it into actionable activities
  • Strong ability to diagnose complex technical problems involving mechanical, electrical, network, controls, and data aspects
  • Proven track record of team building and development in a technical environment
